                KING VEGA

Since 1993, Syracuse native emcee King Vega has been known for a number of things. Chief among them has always been a viciously competitive nature. His experience has helped him to develop a dynamic live performance that has quite the shock value. 1993 for anyone who missed it was the underground era when 2PAC, NAS, NOTORIOUS B.I.G. and more simply had dominated as the popular sound. It was at this time that King Vega as he is known had taken to music and the loss of a close friend Larry Lewis that would become his biggest influences. It would be the aggression, hood mentality and lack of respect for anything fake or phony that he would identify with. This converted into a tendency to say exactly whatever comes to his mind no matter how outlandish or disrespectful. Other influences include Dr. Dre, N.W.A., LL Cool J, Mobb Deep, Wu Tang Clan, & Jay-Z. King Vega was also heavily supported and pushed by former DJ and uncle Prem Bey who would introduce him to the different aspects and intricacies of running an independent record label and the administrative aspect of the music industry from both the major and indie sides of the coin. This is where things began to change and King Vega would become serious about making music as well as it being his means of making a living.
Since then he has gone on to secure radio play on:
1.        Dj Rsource at z89.1 FM
2.        Uncle Lil john at 95.3fm

He has gotten exposure via time warner channel 98. King Vega has made over 100 mix tapes hosted by official Dj’s. Among these Dj’s are:

 1. The Evil Genius Dj green lantern
 2. Dj Tampa mystic
 3. Dj chill will
 4. Dj culture Dj ill kid
 5. Dj pizzay blue

He has had music played on:

1.        Dj Clue’s radio stationwww.deserstorm.com,
2.       Detroit radio
3.       shade 45
All things considered he has sold out shows for four years straight, performed at The Diamond Awards hosted by Bigga Rankin, for Wendy Day & Rich Boy.  King Vega has also collaborated to do songs with Verse Simmonds, Blitz Mcbain of dip set. He has maintained a lot of activity for an independent artist making him one to watch for.
